This world exists along side our own, connected by portals. Portals can be monitored, but are unpredictable by nature.Mythologies across our world have told tales of fantastic creatures and strange civilizations. At one point in time, our ancestors traversed these portals and returned with tales to share.
“My child, there is no way to return. This is your home now.”
Overtime, those in our world saw less and less portals. Theories abound why people from our world can no longer see them, but no matter the reason, the result was that some inadvertently fell into another world.Human cities were established within the Dreamworld as a refuge and place of safety for the displaced.

Though not everyone welcomes her arrival, Matira is given a place among them as the royal librarian. As she begins unraveling the city’s hidden histories, she realizes Atlanticia is far more dangerous than she ever imagined.
Robin, prince of Atlanticia, has spent his life protecting the floating city, and from the moment Matira appears, he is certain she is a threat. When strange occurrences begin to plague the city, each one somehow tied to Matira, his suspicions only deepen, and he is determined to prove she is the cause before it is too late.
But as darkness stirs around Atlanticia and long-buried secrets begin to surface, Matira discovers her arrival may not have been an accident at all. The deeper she digs, the more she uncovers truths buried for generations, truths that could unravel the city itself.
And if she cannot uncover the truth in time, Atlanticia may not survive what is coming.

Vibes & Comp Titles
What sort of vibes can you expect while reading Moonlight Echoes?
Many of the stories I grew up with have contributed to the vibe of Moonlight Echoes. It has darker vibes like Labyrinth and Tim Burton tales. There is a mystery element that was inspired by my love of Sherlock Holmes. Little Women and A Little Princess were both books I loved and several beta readers commented that Matira’s life in the real world has those vibes.
Comp titles include all those listed in the vibes, and also Chronicles of Narnia and Alice in Wonderland. This story is a portal fantasy like both of those books and Labyrinth. The main difference is that these books are not fun children’s stories. They are very much written for an adult audience and the future books will have darker themes than book one.
